Cobalt
Feedback Neo

Epic feedback that stays beautiful when it gets extreme.

A tempo-synced delay built for Progressive Trance, Melodic House, Deep Progressive, and Modern Trance. EPIC ENGINE adds an independent late tail for sustained spatial feedback, while FEEDBACK ENGINE unlocks Bloom / Density / Smear for dense, dramatic loop behavior.

Two engines, one Cobalt idea

Push harder. Keep the beauty.

Cobalt Series is built around a simple promise: the more intense the feedback becomes, the more beautiful the residual space should feel. Feedback Neo splits that idea into two complementary engines so rhythm and epic space can coexist.

Intensity is the feature - not the side effect. Raise EPIC ENGINE for dark, wide late-tail bloom. Engage FEEDBACK ENGINE for dense diffused space between repeats. Together they create the Cobalt signature: fierce feedback that still reads as musical, luminous, and production-ready.

EPIC ENGINE - independent late-tail radiance

EPIC ENGINE is a one-knob spatial control that adds an independent late-tail component without directly driving the main delay feedback loop into runaway behaviour. At 0% the Epic path is effectively off. As you raise it, dark, wide, sustained spatial feedback layers in - more epic, more continuous, more beautiful.

  • Separate from the main loop Unlike Space Neo, Feedback Neo's EPIC ENGINE does not intensify the primary delay feedback path. It adds a late-tail layer on its own route, so you can grow epic space without destroying the rhythmic clarity of early repeats.
  • Dark, wide sustain Higher EPIC ENGINE increases late-tail sustain and width. On Diffusion Cloud and Gravity Bloom, the addition curve is tuned for larger, darker late-tail expansion - ideal for build-ups, impact tails, and dramatic send effects.
  • Usable with Feedback Engine EPIC ENGINE and FEEDBACK ENGINE are independent. Keep EPIC modest on Cobalt Sync / Neon Ping to protect groove, or stack both engines on Diffusion Cloud / Gravity Bloom when you want maximum Cobalt bloom.

FEEDBACK ENGINE - Bloom / Density / Smear

FEEDBACK ENGINE is an on/off switch for strong feedback-loop behaviour. When off, Bloom, Density, and Smear do not push the loop hard. When on, a dense, legacy-style feedback space becomes active - most obvious on Diffusion Cloud and Gravity Bloom, where the engine turns on automatically.

  • Bloom Expands late-tail size and width inside the feedback loop. The space opens outward, turning repeats into a larger, more immersive field without losing the delay identity.
  • Density Increases density between repeats. Built on all-pass diffusion, it fills the gaps so echoes stop feeling sparse and start feeling like continuous spatial matter.
  • Smear Softens and smears late repeats. Edges blur into atmosphere, creating the "beautiful residue" Cobalt Series is known for - intense feedback that dissolves into glow.

How the two engines divide the work

On Diffusion Cloud and Gravity Bloom, the roles of EPIC ENGINE and FEEDBACK ENGINE are most clearly separated - and that separation is what lets intensity stay beautiful.

FEEDBACK ENGINE When on, Bloom / Density / Smear activate dense diffused space inside the main feedback loop. Gravity Bloom pushes late-tail expansion and darkness harder than Diffusion Cloud.
EPIC ENGINE Adds a late tail on a path separate from the main delay feedback loop. Off at 0%. Raise it for dark, wide, sustained spatial feedback that layers over the rhythmic delay.
Together FEEDBACK ENGINE densifies the loop. EPIC ENGINE blooms the independent late tail. The result is fierce, musical residual space - the Cobalt Series signature.

Delay types that unlock the engines

Rhythmic

Cobalt Sync / Neon Ping

Feedback Engine off by default. Keep EPIC ENGINE modest when you need the grid to read clearly on leads, plucks, throws, and fills.

Epic space

Diffusion Cloud

Feedback Engine on. Dense echoverb-style delay for epic lead space, pads, break FX, and large spreading tails - the reference type for Cobalt bloom.

Maximum bloom

Gravity Bloom

Feedback Engine on. The largest, darkest late-tail expansion type for build-ups, impact tails, long sends, and dramatic dark space.

Performance controls keep extreme settings usable: FREEZE holds the current tail, THROW launches a temporarily larger delay throw, and KILL / PANIC clear ringing feedback instantly. High Repeat, EPIC ENGINE, or FEEDBACK ENGINE can leave tails after source changes - use KILL when switching sounds for a clean stop.

Compared with Space Neo

Same Cobalt promise. Different placement.

Space Neo EPIC ENGINE Lives inside the 8ch FDN reverb loop. Intensifies shimmer, saturation, and multi-phase modulation so the reverb itself becomes more epic and sustained.
Feedback Neo EPIC ENGINE Adds an independent late-tail layer beside the delay core, so epic space can grow without forcing the main delay feedback into runaway behaviour.
Feedback Neo FEEDBACK ENGINE Switches strong Bloom / Density / Smear loop behaviour on or off - the dense, diffused engine that turns repeats into continuous spatial matter.
Version 0.9.0 is available as Demo Edition and Product Edition. In the Demo Edition, audio becomes silent after about 15 minutes (900 real-time seconds) from load, and some save features are unavailable. Reload the plugin to continue evaluation.
