Cobalt
Space Neo

The harder you push, the more beautiful the space becomes.

A stereo reverb and spatial effect for Progressive Trance, Melodic House, and Modern Trance. True Stereo design, three reverb modes - Room / Hall / Cave - and EPIC ENGINE for intensified feedback-loop shimmer, saturation, and multi-phase modulation.

Signature of Cobalt Series

EPIC ENGINE - beauty under pressure.

EPIC ENGINE is not there to make the effect louder. It intensifies processing inside the feedback loop so the space grows more epic, more sustained, and more beautiful as you turn it up.

In Cobalt Series, intensity is not noise - it is radiance. Raise EPIC ENGINE and the reverb does not simply get wetter. The circulating signal itself transforms: shimmer fills the sky, saturation keeps the tail dense, and multi-phase modulation turns static halls into living space. The more you push, the more the ambience blooms.

What EPIC ENGINE does

In Cobalt Space Neo, EPIC ENGINE sits inside the 8-channel FDN feedback loop. A typical reverb is closer to input -> ambience -> output. EPIC ENGINE reshapes the signal that keeps circulating in the loop. As the control rises, decay curve, modulation depth, and harmonic density move together, and the whole space expands organically.

At 0%, loop-internal processing is effectively bypassed and the plugin behaves as pure FDN reverb (visualizer: PURE REVERB). From there, the path climbs through WARM MODULATION & GLOW into HYPERDRIVE (SHIMMER PORTAL) - where the space becomes brighter, longer, and more cinematic.

Three processes, one control

One EPIC ENGINE knob links three loop-internal processes. MOD RATE and MOD DEPTH further sculpt the modulation layer without breaking the unified feel.

  • Shimmer An octave pitch shifter writes a one-octave-up component back into the FDN loop. Higher EPIC ENGINE increases shimmer blend for cloud-like brightness and high-end spread - the "fill the sky" quality Cobalt Series chases in trance and melodic production.
  • Saturation tanh-style nonlinear saturation densifies the circulating signal. As feedback intensifies, the tail stays full instead of thinning out. This is a core pillar of epic feedback: more pressure, more body, more sustain.
  • Multi-phase modulation Eight delay channels are modulated by sine LFOs with 45-degree phase offsets. Effective depth expands nonlinearly with EPIC ENGINE (up to about 3.5x), moving from static hall ambience to fluid, evolving space without harsh pitch warble.

It changes time, not only tone

EPIC ENGINE rewrites decay behavior itself. Near 0%, tails fall as set. Toward 100%, the decay curve eases for long, sustained tails, and the same DECAY setting sounds clearly longer and more epic. Feedback gain is capped for safety, so EPIC ENGINE can push sustain to the edge without runaway chaos.

Room Compact FDN layout. EPIC ENGINE adds brightness and density inside a tighter, focused space.
Hall Smooth 8ch Hadamard FDN. Internal clamping keeps extreme settings musical while preserving epic scale.
Cave Large delay layout with boosted modulation for fluid, dramatic motion - deep, irregular, and cinematic.

Modes

Room / Hall / Cave

Each mode changes the internal delay layout and reverb character. Pair any mode with EPIC ENGINE when you want the space to bloom harder and stay beautiful under pressure.

Cobalt Space Neo Room mode
Room - compact density for vocals and tight spaces
Cobalt Space Neo Hall mode
Hall - smooth scale for pads and epic ambience
Cobalt Space Neo Cave mode
Cave - dramatic depth with boosted modulation

Room

Compact density

Tight plates and rooms for vocals and focused spaces. EPIC ENGINE adds brightness within a compact FDN layout.

Hall

Smooth scale

Medium to large halls for pads and epic ambience. Internal clamping keeps EPIC ENGINE musical at high settings.

Cave

Dramatic depth

Large irregular spaces with boosted modulation for fluid, dramatic spatial motion.

Strong starting points: Shimmering Portal (Hall, maximum EPIC ENGINE) and Deep Nebula Cave (Cave, long Decay, strong EPIC ENGINE and modulation). If a previous tail remains after raising EPIC ENGINE, press KILL to reset loop state. BYPASS keeps dry output; KILL clears internal delay lines without changing parameter values.
